Turmeric contains antioxidants and has great anti inflammatory benefits. It can be fed as a supplement or is a great natural food colouring for your enrichment designs!
A little bit of powder goes a long way, so when adding it to a liquid in order to dye it, just start with 1/4tsp and keep adding it until you get your desired colour.
The powder can be fed sprinkled over food or it will dissolve into liquids turning them a vibrant yellow / orange colour.
If you'd like to feed turmeric as a supplement, around 15-20mg of turmeric per pound of body weight is the ideal dosage for dogs.
- Small dogs should begin with ¼ teaspoon
- Medium dogs should begin with ½ per day,
- Large dogs should start with ¾ teaspoon per day
- Giant dogs should start with one teaspoon per day.
